The Discipline of Lent

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence while all Lenten Fridays are days of abstinence. This means every Catholic from age 14 up is required to abstain from eating meat on those days. Fasting obliges all those 18—59 to limit oneself to one full meal with two lighter meals and no in-between meal snacking.

The schedule for Ash Wednesday has four times for Mass with the imposition of ashes during the Mass.

Stations of the Cross are prayed every Friday in Lent (except for March 26 when they are replaced by our Passion Play) at 7:00 pm in church. Come and join in this meditation on Christ’s Passion and Death.
